A friend said to me, “This is going to be the soundtrack to my year ahead, I can feel it”. Honestly, so could I. That is the magic of Taylor Swift. At twenty, she speaks to us girls now like no one else can. I’m sitting here listening to her new music and can already relate to at least three songs. She has a unique way of writing songs personal to her while still making them connect to strangers’ lives. On release three days and already ‘Speak Now’ is being called her best album yet, and I can see why. She is maturing with age and so is her songwriting. Magically, the fans get to grow with her and experience all the highs and lows of life along with her. A beautiful, quirky, twenty year old girl, Taylor is shaping out to be an amazing role model.
She may graciously thank her fans over and over, but it is the fans that should thank her. Because on a bad day, when the world feels dark, a song like ‘Mine’ or ‘Speak Now’, can bring some light into it. So thank YOU Taylor.
